These polka dotted blue and black earrings have bright yellow contrasting squares fused on top of the circular patterns. The dotted dichroic glass base is black with tiny dots that fade from cobalt blue to teal green. Layered in the upper corners of the base squares are smaller yellow squares placed at 90 degrees to the base. This creates a beautiful counterpoint of both shape, color and visual pattern!
The earrings measure 1.25 inches (3 cm) from the top of the gold filled ear wires to the bottom of the dichroic glass. The width is .5 inches (1.5 cm).

FAQ: Dichroic glass was first developed by NASA as part of their satellite mirrors. The exceptionally thin coatings are applied to glass in very controlled environments. Di- chroic means two colors and this glass reflects/transmits different colors depending on the angle of light. When it is worn with different colors, it can pick up and reflect some of those colors so it really enhances the total look. I call this the "mood" of the glass.
