Jo's Bevel 6.5" Handmade Stained Glass Appalachian Quilt Square in Green/Gold with Nine Clear Glass Bevels
This is a 6.5 inch handmade stained glass quilt square that showcases many pieces of beautiful beveled glass that will catch the light from many directions. The center beveled square has a double bevel. 4 of the corner bevels are a soft pastel green.
The gold glass in this little quilt square is an antique "glue chip" glass that was left over from a church restoration. The dark green outer corners are made from Blenko mouth blown glass.
Embedded in all that beautiful glass are 9 clear beveled glass squares! The brilliant bevels will capture the light and sometimes shoot rainbows into the room when the sun gets to the right angle.
Tiffany's copper foil technique was used to join the glass and the solder has a copper patina. The metal frame is copper plated. This is a very special piece, with the beautiful old glass in it!
Photographing glass is very difficult and the character of the glass will change with the light and the landscape behind it. Therefore, these photos are the best representation of color that I could achieve with natural lighting. Metal loops are attached to the top for hanging.
