"The Vase" Unframed Drypoint Print by Donald Earley
Artist Donald Earley has created "The Vase", using a drypoint printmaking technique.
The artist has captured the essence of the iris beautifully in this fine print.
The unframed drypoint print measures 9.5 inches x 2.5 inches.
Drypoint is a printing process in which lines are drawn on a metal plate with a stylus called a drypoint needle. The stylus raises a "burr" in the metal, creating velvety effects on the print. Drypoint looks like an etching but avoids the use of acid, making it a safer and easier way of producing a good quality print.
